Upon opening in 1995 Aromaflex was the first of its kind in NZ (and the world) to bring Aromatherapy into its own by providing a retail shop specializing only in pure and organic essential oils, by the bottle, drop and mls.

 

Aromatherapy training was offered in 1996 operating from a classroom located on the ground floor.  Due to growing interest the courses attracted, the Private Training Establishment was set up in 1998 offering an NZQA accreditation.

 

The Academy is situated on the first floor in Development House on Trafalgar Street, which is one of Nelson's historical buildings, dating back to 1864.

Its location in Nelson's central shopping district near the Cathedral steps, surrounded by cafes makes for a very pleasant experience.

 

Aromaflex Academy specializes in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Massage & Anatomy & Physiology qualifications and remains unique in NZ & Australia, as it is the only Academy to offer such specialized complementary medicine training to such an International level that are recognized by two leading governing bodies in the world and be NZ Government Accredited and Registered. 

 

Our Graduates from Aromaflex are able to practice overseas with their qualification/s.  Some are re-employed at the Nelson Aromaflex shop, and given careers either in retail, which comprises of blending, on the spot remedy recommendations, phone support, and also in the treating of some customers via the various forms of massage treatments and aftercare.  Other Graduates go on to make their own careers either in NZ or overseas.
