Essential Oils
We have over 99 different varieties of Pure Essential Oils here at Aromaflex. Over 80% are organic, the rest are Wild or Pure & Natural. Some Essential Oils: Lavenders, Kanuka and Manuka Oils are sourced from local suppliers, and many Essential Oils are hand picked from organic suppliers from around the world.
Essential oils are extremely concentrated, (around 100 times stronger than the plant), very aromatic and evaporate readily. They are quite different from carrier oils having a consistency more like water than oil. The essential oil is obtained from the secretory cells from the various parts of the plant, ie, lavender from the flowers, eucalyptus from the leaves etc.. The plant is put into a steam or water distiller under pressure to extract the essential oil from the part of the plant. This process requires a vast quantity of leaves, flowers or bark. The amount of essential oil in a plant is very, very little…2,000 lb. of rose petals are needed to produce the equivalent of one pound weight of rose oil. Hence the price variation from oil to oil, as each plant yields a different amount of essential oil.
The oils from plants are very different from fixed mineral and vegetable oils, and do not leave an oily mark on paper. Essential oils each has its own influence on part of the human body, be it skin, kidneys, blood, circulation, appetite etc. They have anti-bacterial, anti-microbic and anti-viral properties, plus maximum penetration through the skin. By encouraging the growth of new vigorous cells they delay the process of ageing, and their power of healing is very great.
The aroma given off by essential oils can have profound effects on the mind and nervous system, and generally brings about a state of wellbeing.
