The Certificate in Aromascience
You don’t need any knowledge of Essential oils/aromatherapy at all. You will be taught everything, right from the beginning with the Introduction to Aromatherapy onwards through to four other levels of training.
At the end of this study you will be qualified to work as an Aromatologist, Aromascience practitioner, or Aromatherapist.
We believe that this is one of the most comprehensive distance learning Aromatherapy qualifications that is currently available in the world. This is a correspondence course, with some face to face learning, and case study work.
This course has been specially designed for people who know nothing about Aromatherapy right through to those people who are already trained in other health modalities, already have a clinic and would like to use essential oils in their setting or practice, with massage, homeopathy, midwifery, Reflexology, pharmacy, nurses, beauty therapists etc.
This course will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to competently and safely practice Aromatology – the study of the oils without massage, Aromascience, the study of Aromatherapy with some massage, or else you may like to staircase further to the Diploma in Aromatherapy.
The Aroma Science course consists of:
- Pure essential oils – at least 95 varieties
- Carrier base oils – at least 25 varieties
- Methods of production and extraction and safety
- Chemistry of essential oils and how this relates to their use and properties.
- The olfaction process and how oils are absorbed into the body
- The history of aromatherapy
- The art of blending, recipes, application methods
- Aromatherapy cosmetics / lip balm / face creams
- Methods of use - finding the most effective aromatherapy treatment
- Aromatherapy for pregnancy and woman's needs
- Aromatherapy and specialist subjects
- Research component - conducting research for a journal article
- Aromatherapy and Pathology
- Workbook and Case study work to be completed.
- You are also required to attend at least one Introduction to Aromatherapy workshop during your study of the Aromascience course, (this cost is included in your fees). Please see the Introduction to Aromatherapy earlier in the prospectus to choose your study weekend/time.
- The Certificate in Aromascience is a part time training course for 1 year.
- You can start this course at any time, the first date of study is when you pay your fees and enrolment is complete.
